It's all classic/common side effects to the vaccines - it should be in any post vaccine info they gave you. If not I'm sure the NHS have a side effects thing somewhere online.
It should only last a couple of days.
Edited to add: paracetamol and ibuprofen can help the symptoms (or other painkillers depending on what you can take)
2-4 days is usually the range for side effects. I agree with the paracetamol, too. Hang in there!

My daughter had the Oxford vaccine and felt dreadful , it lasted 3 days. She had uncontrollable shakes, joint pain, headache, stomach pains, felt sick, was unable to eat. It will pass.
I had flu like symptoms for about 24 hours and slept alot the following 24 hours. Then after 12 days got rebound symptoms plus the site of the injection got red, lumpy & itchy. The flu like symptoms lasted another 24 hours and the covid arm is getting better. I had the Oxford AZ vaccine. NB it didn't affect my asthma.
You should have been given a Patient's leaflet about the vaccine. If you weren't there's a copy online.
It tells you what side effects are likely, what to do if you have others, and general advice
Sorry to hear you are suffering. I don't know if it helps but my husband, who never reacts to the flu vaccine, was unwell after his covid jab - head aches, achy joints, feeling hot and cold. He took three doses of paracetamol the first day, two the second and by the fourth day was fine again. Hope you are soon feeling better.
Hi there, my first time posting, but find this forum very helpful. Thank you to everyone. I too had terrible side effects after the Oxford jab last week. High temperature and shaking, headaches and aches and pains, felt just like flu but appeared in less than 2 hours, as opposed to a gradual build up. The leaflet I was given did explain this may happen but i was not prepared for how terrible I left. But paracetamol and a lot of sleep helped a lot. Took 3/4 days to get back to some kind of normal. Hang in there hope you feel better soon.
I did but more or less passed in 24 hours spoke to doctor at surgery he said f I was no improvement in 3 days to get back to them. It took 3 weeks for lump in my arm to go away too. I am still super grateful that I have had it. Can only imagine how ill I’d be if I had Covid Doc also said it’s proof that your immune system is working well. So take heart. It will pass I am sure Lxx
I had the OAZ vaccine 12 days ago. I felt tired and achy the day after and my arm was sore. The day after that I was fine but then following day felt achy and tired again and I have had a sharp head ache on one side of my head off and on since then. Today then headache has gone today and all’s I have now is a slightly sore arm that unnoticed this morning when I was getting dressed but I don’t feel it unless I move my arm certain ways. So in conclusion and in my case, the side effects of the vaccine came on the next day as my immune system kicked in and then over a week the aches and tiredness gradually wore off. I hope that you feel better soon.
Sorry you're feeling poorly. I also had the Oxford vaccine, last Wednesday, and within hours had flu symptoms including a temp of 39. Felt appalling for 2 days then all the symptoms disappeared. Unfortunately it has upset my asthma, so I'm dealing with that now, but I don't think that's usual. Feel better soon x
Me too, first time ever post-vaccine, but it'll pass: I had 2-3 days of aches, couldn't get warm at all ... but nothing too unexpected, and lots of information, all fell into the fairly common side effects - I used hot water bottles, turned the heat up and generally took things easy + some paracetamol. I think small price to pay - others recount the same or very similar, tho' never feels a good thing at the time - I hope all well now.
I reacted awfully too. Chills, fever, headache, all over pain and sickness. It lasted around 24 hours I think. Was awful but hoping because I had such a bad response to it, maybe the second dose won’t be so bad?!
I had the Oxford vaccine over two weeks ago,and I had pain in left side of neck/head for over a week, also felt generally fluey, chills fever, dizzy stayed in bed for two days and took paracetamol.just starting to feel ok .I haven't heard of anyone having side effects from the Pfizer vaccination.
Hey, I am just recovering too from AZ vaccine last tues! Omg I felt ill within few hrs was asleep which was fine then after that 😱😱 literally felt like my head was going to crack into pieces took paracetamol, ibuprofen and migraine meds. Then the temp of 38.5 came with fever, whole body aches, my skin hurt to touch all over, couldn't think straight, was so weak and in bed for 2.5 days also felt sick. 2 days after throat felt like golf ball in left side after 3 hrs throat fine again so strange!
Yesterday felt really down today touch wood all symptoms gone! Except tingly fingers and funny tummy still, Strange old week!!! Dreading round 2. The thought of poor 6 yr olds going through it.. but still better than the beast itself.
Just a thought here but is anyone reporting these using the yellow card system? Might be helpful to vaccine developers if they are reported just incase these side effects are more acute in asthma sufferers generally
