Chest pain. Two things spring to my mind - heart and indigestion. As you are on Prednisone indigestion sounds like a likely culprit, but a call to the GP would be in line I think. Presumably they can tell the difference, and prescribe accordingly.

If you get shoulder pain/back pain/jaw pain /nausea/vomiting (any one in conjunction with chest pain) then 999 to get checked out. ( My GP won’t see anyone with chest pain - as soon as you pick up the phone it says if you have chest pain to ring 999)

Hi, If you have chest pain and on Prednisone, it might likely be caused by indigestion. I sometimes get chest pain after taking P. For me, it is indigestion. If I drink half a glass of plain water, it goes away.

But, heart problems have sometimes the same symptoms. For that reason, I would recommend a visit to the emergency room. If you go there with a chest pain, you are normally a priority case. If it is simply indigestion, they will tell you so and then you know. I have no idea why Prednisone might give an indigestion. Maybe somebody better versed can tell us.

Hi there, I have found prednisone to be a wonderful addition to fighting an asthma flair up and sometimes it's the only thing that seems to work. I definitely agree that it should be taken with milk, whether cow, almond or oat to coat the stomach. However I would feel safest having someone check out your chest pain to make sure there is nothing else going on. I always feel it's better to be safe and if it turns out you're just experiencing indigestion then that's a relief. My asthma can be GERD related so that can be an indicator for me that my reflux meds are not working however you didn't suggest that was a cause of your asthma so I would check in with your dr.
