Asthma
This would seem to be an appropriate move (bnf.nice.org.uk/drugs/budes.... Ventolin is a short-duration reliever inhaler, whereas Budesonide is a long-acting corticosteroid, thereby providing better long-term control. He should still carry the Ventolin for emergencies.
There are plenty of corticosteroid inhalers on the market so, if your son has problems with Budesonide, your GP should be able to prescribe a suitable alternative.
Hi, just to say that I agree with Superzob and wish your son good luck. There are videos on the manufacturer's websites to show the correct way to use the inhalers (with and without spacers). He needs to learn as much as possible about asthma, what triggers he has and tge importance of taking his prescribed medication regularly.
Hi MohammadI can only share that I have used Ventolin for 12 years. My brother for 40 years. Please ask your Dr for an explanation for the change from Ventolin. If you were more comfortable with the use of Ventolin, ask for it to be prescribed again.
Hope that helps. Wodie
