Fostair is the only inhaler I have ever had so I can’t make comparisons I’m afraid although I’m sure there are people here who can. It works very well for me- when I first got it, it was like magic!
I tried about 3 inhalers before Fostair NEXThaler 200/6. It took a few weeks for it to be fully effective but was fantastic for me. No more tight chest and made a huge difference to my breathlessness which has gone. For me it has worked really well. Hope it does the same for you too.
Been on it for a couple of years. Did get the shakes for a couple months when first put on it, but it settled down after that. Made breathing so much easier and can go up hills on a good day without stopping, which was a first! Hope it works for you too. xx
I used to be on Symbicort but could not get on with it as my tongue/throat was getting very sore whatever I did to avoid it. Moved to Fostair years ago. I would say I think the Symicort worked a tiny bit better but I am more than happy with Fostair as I dont get the side effects. GP moved me to Luforbec recently from Fostair and my breathing was awful within days . Fortunately they agreed to move me back to Fostair and I have been fine since.
Difficult to say as it works quite differently for individuals. It has kept my asthma stable for some years, but others can't get on with it. It seems to me that this applies to lots of medications: you just have to give it a try and see!
I was on Qvar and Serivent (I think) which weren't working too well so moved onto Fostair Nexthaler which has been good for me, I did get shakes for a while which passed and sometimes cramp but that is kept under control with the occasional banana
I have been on Fostair inhalers since I was diagnosed about 8 years ago, I was upped to Fostair 200/6, 2 years ago, no problems what so ever x
100 liquid didn't work for me after a number of other failed combination inhalers 200 powder does work for me... been on it a number of years now.
I agree with ChrissieMons that it can be quite individual and sometimes you just have to try! I personally prefer Fostair as I find it easier to take, especially when I'm struggling, and I think it gets in better. It's a 'fine particle' formulation which means more of it gets into the airways instead of the mouth/throat, even with a dry powder inhaler where you can't use a spacer.
