Luforbec/fostair
I've also experienced difficulties when my Fostair was replaced by Luforbec - choked whenever I used it (despite using a spacer), suddenly coughing at night and increasingly out of breath, as well as experiencing terrible reflux. Peak flow reading dropped by over 100 and I generally felt very unwell, as if I'd run out of preventer inhaler completely. Found an old Fostair inhaler with a couple of puffs remaining, which I took and started to feel better.
Spoke to local pharmacist after waiting two days for a GP to call me back. Pharmacist told me to request an urgent prescription for Fostair and for it to be put back on my repeat prescription list. GP wasn't convinced that Luforbec was the cause of my symptoms - I've had asthma for over 30 years but I'm clearly not considered an expert on managing my condition - but she eventually agreed to put me back on it, providing I contact them again if no improvement within two days.
However, when I went to collect the prescription, the pharmacist said that the GP hadn't put Fostair back on my repeat list, just a generic version! The pharmacist kindly gave me Fostair anyway without my having to ask but said I needed to contact the surgery again to get it corrected. This has now been done, but at a huge cost to my stress levels and other pre-existing chronic conditions, not to mention a total waste of a lot of people's time!
Pharmacists are clearly aware there's an issue with Luforbec. I'm now going to report my issues with it via the Yellow Card system.
