Fostair shaking

My husband started on fostair last October, within a month he'd noticed shaking in his hands & forearms. Its got so bad, it's like the worst parkinsons. He's stopped using it last 3 weeks or so, but does anyone know how long these shakes will last?

I think that it could be a side effect of low potassium, which can happen on certain asthma inhalers, including Fostair. The patient leaflet does state that the patient's doctor should monitor potassium levels if it's suspected to be an issue. I've had low potassium a couple of times thanks to my asthma treatment. First time I was given potassium tablets and the second time I had to adjust my diet to include more potassium.

I use Fostair 200/6. My prescribed dose is 2 puffs morning and night. I've been using this for about 5 yrs. A couple of years ago I noticed I was shaking after using the morning puffs. I was referred to a neurologist who diagnosed Essential Tremours. He agreed that one of thr ingredients can cause tremours. I can't do without using it altogether but after discussion with my respiratory consultant, I use it less per day which has helped some. Re potassium, my levels are fine. Good luck to your husband.

I think he's having an extreme reaction. I used to get the jitters if I had two puffs, but not one. His resp nurse might be able to help. I now take Luforbec, which is more or less the same as Fostair, and only need one puff. Maybe he could try that instead.
