Asthma been so good for such a long time but last few days is bad and getting worse, now awful! Been battling box tree moth, bonfire smoke yesterday ,took 2 weeks to get X to hoover, + pollens. Took cetirizine, usual 2 x Flixotide bid but now Ventolin too, still bad. Better outside but can't live out there. Which one shall I use more of till it settles down? Thanks.🤷‍♀️

If it's getting worse then you need to see/speak to someone about it. Have you got an asthma action plan? That should tell you what to do.

Don't hesitate to go to A&E if you're really struggling. Otherwise, call the NHS advice line or ring the Asthma UK helpline in the morning. Or ring your GP if they are the kind who are helpful.

Of asthma is worsening, usual advice is to increase ventolin And talk to asthma nurse,or Dr x

If you don't have a personalised asthma plan (that advises you what to do when asthma symptoms worsen), it's best to contact your GP for advice. Explain your asthma symptoms have become difficult to control and you're taking more Ventolin, but would like to talk to your doctor about additional treatment. You should get a same day appointment, but that may be a telephone consultation. If you're advised to increase your inhalers, make sure you also get advice on next steps if symptoms continue or if they worsen further.

Don't hesitate to go back to your doctor if you don't improve as expected. It could be you need additional treatment beyond your inhalers.

Take care and I hope you feel better soon.

Thank you for replies. It was just a blip with too many triggers all at once. I used Ventolin twice, took Cetirizine and sat next to air purifier, outdoors a few times where I was fine so was probably from bonfire smoke that filled my house. When are they going to ban them??! I have an asthma plan somewhere but it's useless, just what I told nurse suits me anyway. I would never go to A&E, no point, just sit on trolley for 11 hours! 🙄 Hope all settled now or will up preventer for a while and use Ventolin if desperate. Thanks all.👍

Glad you are feeling a bit better. I find if I have a flareup, it does take a while to calm back down again, so take it steady for a few days.

Ok if Asthma is worse it would not be wife to take extra "Flixotide" It would not even help a flare up, if you need to increase, then I think it more usual to increase ventolin but only until you phone and see your GP..
