Large Airway Collapse ... defined as 50% or more collapse of the large airways

I have EDAC (Excessive Dynamic Airway Collapse) where the back of my trachea folds in and touches the back of the front of my airway .... causes asthma like symptoms and constant chest infections (I'm nursing one now)

If it is LAC its about symptom management in the UK

If your in the US they stint the airway so it can't narrow/close ... but its extremely invasive and takes a long time to recover... it also doesn't seem to be 100% successful in a large number of patients

In that case it will be things like respiratory physio

And if like me you keep getting chest infections it will be stuff to make the mucus thinner and easier to cough up

The problem with LAC conditions is not every one gets all of the symptoms and some people walk around symptom free not even knowing they have it

But LAC is often misdiagnosed as asthma it also quite often co-exists with other common respiratory conditions, but they themselves are very rare

The video doesn’t play. I am familiar with the anatomy since I intubated patients for anesthesia.. You need an otolaryngologist. This is beyond the scope of a GP .
