Hi, been on Fostair since Oct 22. Had really bad joint pain, hands and knees and fatigue. Doctors have said not linked and I have long covid. Anyone else had any problems please?

Hi JezB,

I haven't heard of this being a problem with Fostair. I've been through COVID twice while using the higher doses and usually it's a help. It could be linked to long COVID as I had these symptoms too but there are other possibilities. Without knowing your medical background I'd suggest going back to the GP and if need be asking for a blood test to rule out other possibilities?

Hi

I’ve not heard of Fostair causing joint pain. I went on this many years ago and it didn’t agree with me at all. Headaches and shaky and feeling rubbish. What does the leaflet say? Does it mention joint pain??

If you are convinced it’s the Fostair then why not try something like Symbicort? I switched to this one and had no issues. It won’t do any harm to swap and see. It’s similar inhaler but different steroid. It can be used as MART as well.

I found that Forstair worked extremely well for my asthma but the muscle and joint pain was dreadful. The nightly cramps in my calf’s really painful. After three months the GP changed me to another inhaler and the pains stopped within a week.

It has to be remembered that we're all different, what suits one will not necessarily suit another. I've been on Fostair 100 MART for 4 years and find it marvellous whereas Seretide gave me awful cramps, throat blisters and very retained skin. We can only give them a good try out of a few months however, it looks as though you've given Fostair a fair good go. Good luck

Just a thought, do you take statins? They're notorious for causing aches & pains 😬

Awful muscle ache with Fostair in my legs. Pressure under my ribs, which I think might be intercostal muscl aches. Shakes hands and felt sad. Haven’t taken it for 3 days now - too many side effects and potential medical problems!
