unexpected asthma attack

I caught covid two weeks ago. While I had a few unpleasant symptoms but recovered well but was left with a phlegmy cough. On saturday after going for a long walk litter picking etc I came home and was really tired. After 2 hours of sitting down my heart rate (oxymeter from virtual covid ward) was still over a 100. Call that in but heard nonething. It did get better but yesterday my asthma started to kick off with a cough and tight chest which resolved with ventolin. Then in the late afternoon it really started to get worse. A cough and tightness which didn't resolve with two puffs so went on the doing 4 more. Then took my home pack of prednisolone (40mg) and this helped. Last night woke up and had some more ventolin.

I think I just over did it on Saturday and have had to call in sick for work. Heart rate is still high (put this down to steroids and ventolin) I have told my doctors I have started my steroids. Just going to take another lot of ventolin 4 hours after previous.

Second day off working and slept really well last night. Still have that phlegmy cough because of covid. Trying to stay away from the dust thrown up by next door neighbours builder. Haven't feel the need for ventolin today this may change due to dust. Not sure if I sure go to work tomorrow as its going to be 9 hour day in a day nursery.

Any thoughts please

You need to speak to a medic. You usually have good knowledge of your specific type of asthma, and we don't know enough to help you. Talk to the asthma nurse if 111 is no help.

Hi yes feeling much better. I did work on Wednesday turned out to be a 8.5 hour shift. Also need ventolin once on the job. I regret it though as the Wednesday night I only got 4 hours sleep. So yesterday another day at home.

Slept really well last night so able to work today.
