So, just a follow up from my post 3 days ago. I continued to struggle so yesterday I went to A&E. I was very reluctant, as I've never done this before. I shouldn't have worried, as I received amazing care. I was seen immediately, with no waiting at all. I had several meds, including nebs and hydrocortisone IV , chest Xray and ECG. I was kept in for monitoring for several hours. The doctor was considering keeping me in, but I was keen to go home. I've got nebs to use at home, and if I still feel unwell in 3 days I should go back. I do in fact , feel better today. When I'm tight and coughing relentlessly I find using a neb easier than my Ventolin through a spacer. I think this is making a difference.

Thank you all so much for your support and advice. x

Very glad to hear that you're feeling a lot better! They really should have kept you in given this is something that's been dragging on and you'd already had a lot of pred at home which hadn't kicked it into touch. Am I right in assuming they gave you the nebs to have at home (as you'd said before your GP wouldn't give them)?

As I said, very glad you're on the mend but a bit precarious of them to discharge like that!

Hopefully, you'll now have a referral to review your asthma and treatment. Definitely ask your GP if they can arrange a referral and never hesitate to seek emergency treatment, always best to err on the side if caution. Take care.
