Ompraloze and kidney and liver function test

Hi

I have been asked by my hospital to get a blood test to test my liver and kidney function. The only reason I can think of is because I am taking ompraloze for acid reflux. I have been taking it for approxiametly 2 year. Now down to 20mg twice a day.

Hi, I've recently had to have blood tests for same reason as you. I'm on omeparzole too. I asked my GP about it he told me it's routine and I should have blood tests every 12 months and to not be surprised if ask for more blood tests in that time. Plus they did a medication review since the blood tests.

thank you that solves the question. Now its just getting a time when I can get to the doctors for a blood testIs there a risk for taking this drug?

My gastro consultant used to request blood tests of one sort or another every year. I’ve been switched to a different consultant (one who came out of retirement to help with the backlog of outpatient appointments) and nothing has been requested thus far. That said, I’m due to be see my GP next week and I will be requesting a blood test to check for levels of vits B12 and D. I’m not on a PPI but I am on cimetidine (which also suppresses levels of stomach acid) and have been for over a year now.

To update this post I have had my blood test to check my liver function and its normal. I going to make a note in my diary to ask for a blood test once a year.
