Hi, I’m just wondering if any one has had any hospital admissions after having this injection, I’ve had 2 ICU admissions since having the injection, my consultant still wants me to have the injection, it does work but when I get close to the next one I go down hill and end up in hospital, I’m classed as brittle asthma and severe asthma, I always end up with pneumonia I’ve been on a ventilator 3 times now over the last year, I just want some feedback to see if anyone else has had a setback regarding the Mepo biological injection, I also want to find out if anyone else has had any different treatment as I’m on Constant antibiotics daily and on all Medication that can be given for brittle asthma daily eg uniphylin 300mg, carbodistine, montelockast, hydrocortisone, etc any feedback would be great thankyou for reading my post

Mepolizumbab takes a few months to become effective, in my case it took 6 months, I have been on it for 3 years and my asthma condition has significantly improved and therefore I live a normal life. Hope that is helpful

As with josephone I have now been self administering Mepo for 7 month after a few side effects which includes even now for 24 hours after administering the drug I am very tired and feel sick, {All problems have been reported to my consultant and also Glaxo who make the drug and also the yellow cad scheme} I now feel like a different person and able to live a normal life. I can out up with 24hours feeling terrible for the next 29 days able to live my lifr to the full This is the problem with people like us we have to try these things first for sometimes a long time and hope that we will see the light at the end of the tunnel.#All the best.
