2nd Jab

Hi anyone I’m due my 2nd Astra Zeneca tomorrow in Drs, I’m on a 5 day 40mg Prednisolone till Monday.

Anyone had there’s while taking steroids as I can’t decide to go have it or not!As apparently when taking Prednisolone for it to be effective I’ve been told I should have a gap of two weeks of not taking it for the efficacy of it. But if I delay it now as there is a delay in the Astra Zeneca there may not be a jab for me available in two weeks time🙄

Hi Darceydoo,

I have been on oral steroids since December 2020 and had my first AstraZeneca last Saturday and I was absolutely fine. Everyone is different but I would say just go for it. Good luck.

Many of us are on constant prednisolone and have had jabs so it should be fine.

Hi thank you for reply, how treatments have progressed thank goodness. I don’t know how long you’ve had asthma but at least there are better treatments these days for us all! I overlap Asthma/COPD not smoke related it’s long term uncontrolled over 50yrs and now take antibiotics on a permanent basis.

. @ mark-f am so glad i read your post i too am on long term antibiotics due to monthly chest infections but was disappointed when i read that the locum doctor at my surgery didn't bother to read my notes and logged it as suspected covid even though i had had a chest infection in November December and January told it can not be removed as there told to log them now as suspected covid even though i shielded since last year, going to take it up with the doctor who owns the surgery as i don't think this is correct or fair
