I have pain in centre of chest going through to back. Was only diagnosed with asthma in November,I suffer with Rheumatoid arthritis and fibromyalgia as well but was unsure if this was due to asthma. Would be grateful for any feedback.

If you have new chest pain you need to call 111 really.

Pain isn't really an asthma symptom itself. Sometimes people experience pain due to secondary issues caused by/as a result of an exacerbation but you'd have had other asthma symptoms if that was the case.

But chest pain needs investigating by medical people.

Okay thank you for your reply. Didn't want to bother them unless I had to. Have had the pain on and off over the last few days. I had to take my ra medication yesterday which makes me very unwell for 48hrs.

You are never bothering them with chest pain - or anything asthma related actually. It might be part of your meds reaction but equally it could be something else. Hope you get it sorted quickly.

Thank you.😀

Hi, as a fellow asthma plus Fibromyalgia sufferer I had similar pain which radiated round under my armpits. It was eventually diagnosed as Costocondritis, but was pretty scary at the time. It comes and goes, much like the fibro symptoms, but is aggravated by tackling too much housework/gardening at once etc. But any chest pain needs investigating!!! Take care.
