Ask for a chest x ray as he may have coughed a small hole in his lung. I have done this in the past and it was painful.

I always get chest pain when it's bad. Sometimes the symptoms of the infection or just all the coughing. It varies as well.

The worst pain I had was when I had pleurisy So def worth asking for chest x-ray. Hope he's better soon ☺

I've had pleurisy extremely painful, hes not in that sort of pain, but I think you're right about chest ray.

I had chest pain on my right hand side when I had pneumonia. Also had temp and headache. Might be best to get him checked out.

I get sharp pain when I inhale on both sides of my chest when I've been coughing a lot. I usually get very shallow breathing as I avoid inhaling deeply due to it. For my part, it's just muscular pain, and it goes away by itself.

sounds similar, I think it's because of all the coughing to. 😊

I sometimes get pains in my lungs. I am certain I have had pleurisy but tge doctors ignored it and said it was strained muscles due to the cough from bronchitis. That pain was debilitating to the point where I felt I couldn't breathe. But mostly it is a dull pain. If he seems fine otherwise, I would just keep an eye on him, but if he has other symptoms of a chest infection or the pain is debilitating, you had better get him to see a GP. x

no all I know is pediatrics , asthma uk think its allergies that have switched on and very difficult to switch off, hes on antihistamine, nasal spray, singular tablets, preventer inhaler and reliever inhaler but still he coughs, when he was first diagnosed with asthma, he responded well to steroid inhaler but now its seem more difficult to control, he was never on antihistamine or nasal spray, only inhalers and singular tablets for a few years, I was told a few years ago he'd grown out of it, but he always had a cough when the seasons changed, but last year and this year the cough as come like clockwork and doesn't go hes been coughing since may, it's a dry hacking cough, no mucus , some breathlessness when walking and sleeping I see is chest pulling in that not normal but GP are like aww it's not a miracle cure, like I didn't know, if it was no one would have asthma yippee 😤

Hi he could have a chest infection. I had one once where I had a sharp pain when I tried to take a deep breath. I went to the doctor who said it was verging on pneumonia.

On another occasion I coughed so much the big muscle in my heart went into cramp and it was very painful. x

it seems to happen at night, but it goes after a bit, some time comes back then goes wanted to take him to A&E but after going there last year a few times and told its not asthma because is chest is clear no wheeze. Go and get cough mixture. And why did you bring him here I was ask that numerous times, so I don't feel I can take him back. Obviously if it gets really bad I would definitely take him. NHS gone to the dog's, notice the sign about treating them with respect, that's not how they treated me or my son, right attitude towards me, when will they learn that asthma not a tick box problem and one size doesn't fit all! Sorry about rant I'm off again lol 😁 xx

Totally agree Frin9e, one size does not fit all with asthma, and no wheeze doesn't mean it's not asthma either!! I was also sent away from A&E with cough mixture 3 weeks ago after being ambulanced there by GP. Had nebulisers at GP & hospital then they send you home with that, it's a joke!!

I am also on nasal spray & antihistamine tablets as well as preventers/relievers, montelukast and nebs when needed. Now on 30mg pred too.

Do hope your son is better soon x

I do! I am on simbicort and a rescue inhaler. It's much worse since the fire season started. The pain on the left side of my chest is intense when I breathe in.
