AAP - asthma action plan

ABx - antibiotics

appt - appointment

AN - asthma nurse

DPI - dry powder inhaler (suck inhaler)

ICS - inhaled corticosteroid (preventer inhaler)

LABA - long acting beta-2 agonist (long acting bronchodilator/long acting reliever)

MDI - metered dose inhaler (spray inhaler)

Neb - nebuliser

OCS - oral corticosteroid (steroid tablet/liquid)

OTC - over the counter

PF/PEF - peak (expiratory) flow

pred - prednisolone/steroid tablets

Rx - prescription

SoB - short of breath

vent - ventolin/salbutamol/reliever inhaler
