Hi to anyone who has had the covid vaccine , has anyone had the same?. I had the oxford jab on Tuesday 4pm and my arm has been majorly tender since Wednesday morning (i had chills tired, body aches etc too ) but most has gone now except my arm got bit more painful since last night, and noticed also last night the injection site is slightly raised now and i have red patch red warm to touch skin around the whole area and tiny bit itchy . Anyone think this is just a reaction to jab ? ive drawn circle round it just to make sure it doesn't get bigger and no infected. obviously its been a few days now since had it done thought arm would be going down not getting bit worse. Its not agony can use it move it fine, just feels like someone has punched me in the arm and hurts when i move arm in certain directions. Im also wondering as I had covid over christmas whether could be because its acting like second dose so arms bit worse (read that actually having covid then getting jab it can act as second booster one and as result side effects can be bit worse like second dose. any advice wellcome. I didn't want to bother 111 or docs sure they are busy enough right now. thank you

I would imagine it's normal as side effects can come and go - and I wouldn't be at all surprised if, having had covid relatively recently, your body is doing a bit a of a "wahey I know this!" thing. But that's all just a hunch, I don't know for sure. You won't be bothering 111 if you call them, that's what they're there for.
Yeah I’m thinking the same could well be , I went to call them Cos my son kept bugging me. When the options before you get though pretty much said unless you have serious Covid symptoms then hang up other wise. I thought no this is not important ha ha. I will see how it is if grows out the circle then call my docs Monday worst way.
Oh charming! Especially as they will be far less busy than they were a few weeks ago. What a way to put people off seeking help or advice for genuine issues - no wonder you weren't keen!
Your plan sounds sensible to me - hope it sorts itself out in the meantime 🙂
I have covid arm as a result of the OxfordAZ vaccine. Three weeks in and the arm is now hard & lumpy, but became very red & itchy after a few days (initial soreness). Two weeks in & the fluey symptoms also returned for 24 hours. It's been recognised as a thing apparently & if you become ill and are no better after 48 hours, phone 111 for advice.
When I had my jab the first thing that happened was I had to put disinfectant gel on my hands. The second was my temperature was taken, and the third was that I was given a Patient's leaflet about the vaccine and possible side effects and what to do if you have other side effects. Talk to a doctor, nurse or pharmacist was the advice, and or report it to the coronavirus yellow card reporting scheme.
