Spiriva
I don’t know what AF is but I’ve been on Spiriva for several years now and it’s really helped my ‘difficult’ asthma.
Hi
Sorry I ca t answer as I don’t have AF, other than to say I get on well with spiriva which doesn’t help you!
You may find that if you post this on the BLF page you may get more answers. As they cover multiple lung conditions there are more people on the forum so there’s a greater chance of someone with AF and on spiriva being able to answer! 😅
Spiriva isn’t only for asthma, it’s definitely also given to COPD patients and they normally ‘hang out’ on BLF so may be able to help 😉
Hope this helps and you find your answer.
Spiriva may affect one's potassium levels and if these are too low it may have an impact on the heart rhythm (AF). It's important to have regular blood tests to ensure everything is OK. I swapped to Eklira Genuair as Spiriva affected my blood pressure and I had a tiny blip in my heart rhythm. So keep an eye on your BP too. My asthma nurse took a BP base reading before I started in Spiriva so this was a useful benchmark.I should say that I have family history of AF & hypertension so not everyone is going to be affected but it's good to be aware.
