I have been using spiriva hard capsule for about a month. For several days now, my mouth has been dry, I have such a disgust and my tongue is burning. Is it normal? I would like to continue the spiriva as my breathing has improved a lot. But what can I do to avoid dry mouth? . Thank you for all the answers and best regards.

Hi I've used Spriva for 12 years and this to be honest has kept me alive and wouldn't give it up for anything even though they've tried on numerous occasions. Just rinse your mouth thoroughly and brush your teeth if possible after taking it a mouth wash helps too. I am prone to a dry mouth but drink a bit more and I often get thrush so take fluconazole sometimes. To me the taste and sore tongue at times is worth it. I breathe. I hope this helps. It may improve over time.
Hi. Thank you very much for your answer. I am very glad that you are feeling well after spirive. I also noticed that I can breathe better🙂. Can you tell me how often you need salbutamol during the week, for example? Do you need it at all?
If no chest infection no salbutamol at all, if not maybe once or twice a day if really breathless. If you exercise or do anything strenuous maybe you might need your blue inhaler. Your chest will dictate. You might be needing it at present as you've only been on this medication for a short while.
I use spirva and also have a dry mouth .I have never associated the two. Sorry I have not given you an answer, but I am interested to see if others have suggestions.
Hi i have spiriva but in a inhaler form and have none of those issues see if you doctor can change from tablet to inhaler best luck stay safe take care
