Some of you might be interesterd in this risk assessment tool from the BMA. I was glad it confirmed I'm in the Clinically Vulnerable category as it gave me more clout for negotiations at work.

It put me too still as clinically extremely vulnerable. I have multiple health problems. I gave up work due to my consultants ( not respiratory) advice. Thankfully I was in the position I could.

Hope you guys who are in need, manage to get the support you need!

I’m clinically extremely vulnerable (got the ‘we’re not saying shielding but shield’ email today). This assessment tool put me at low risk 😂

Ditto to the low risk on this but shielding email 😂I probably trust the email a bit more because it's less generic and based on my actual asthma not just 'oh you might have had some pred', but at the same time I'm fairly laid back this time round. I work from home freelance anyway luckily so it doesn't have much effect in practice.

Yep same as Emma! These risk calculators generally only give higher risk for older people or those with multiple conditions - understandably as they are obviously higher risk.....but in terms of being able to use them to prove vulnerability, it doesn't work if you're under 50 and "just" have shite asthma for example 🤣

Maybe that's it. I'm 66 - LOL

My work risk assessment is similar it said its happy for me to look after covid patients because I'm white female and 35. It doesn't care that I've had asthma for 33 years and on a moderate dose of fostair and had many steroid prescriptions! Algorithms seem a bit silly sometimes!

When I took that questionnaire first I scored 1, for my age alone. Since then I’ve gone from no asthma to moderate asthma but controlled and I’m now a 2.

Pregnancy doesn’t appear on there which is interesting. 2 colleagues are expecting and have been working from home since we went up to level 4.

My score is 2 but got a email saying I need to shield etc. 🤣🤣
