Just wanted to get everyone’s ideas about the governments ‘at risk’ text which I received today..
Anyone else got one of these?
Also there is no information ( as of yet) in the link provided regarding sick pay or needing a sick note.
My employers are dragging their heels after sending me home last week and I am finding it difficult to get any information as to whether I will be paid if I follow advice to self isolate for the advised 12 weeks. Or what I need to get the ball rolling.
I have messaged my GP but I suspect they will not have any more info than me!
Basically I will seriously have to consider this request if I don’t get some money to survive.. what a choice??!
Anyone any ideas/advice..
Many thanks and stay well!😊

I think there is more information to come. In the meantime I would forward the text to your employer so that they can begin to make arrangements.
I know the government are supporting firms so that they can pay their employees 80% of their wages. Maybe you will be one of them.
I assume your employer will be able to advise you on this.
Yes I got one but I don’t work. Point out to your employer you’re required by the government to stay away from work. At the very least you’ll be entitled to SSP. Then there’s 3 months mortgage/rent relief & waiving of Council Tax. There’s a lot of information on gov.uk/coronavirus
I have messaged the txt to my boss and will send it too HR as well.
I am just a bit bewildered that they knew this was coming and appear to have made no provision at all. I work for a large multi-national so they must have other workers in the same boat?
Fingers x I can get some wages.. or I will have to make some very difficult decisions.🙁
I am sure that it is not only me who will be affected by this.
Thanks very much for the info Hanne62.. and your reply.
Its very useful but my problem is that I just won’t be able to manage ( like many others I’m sure) on SSP. The mortgage holiday might be useful though!
Thanks again - will post again if I get anything useful from my employer.
