I get my inhaler from an online pharmacy and this month they've sent out an email with a new product in it that I don't know.

Hi

Yes. That’s the tradition spacer that I use. Works the same as any other spacer

Hope this helps

Yes I have two. I have one like the one in the picture and another with a mask instead of a mouthpiece, also an aerosure. They work well for me.

Yes, I use one all the time. It’s good. Read the instructions about cleaning it though. I think you are only meant to rinse it out - not use a cloth on the inside (which I did before I read the instructions)

I've only ever used the blue inhalers. Didn't even know there was another type until I got this email. It seems ok so far, will make sure to keep it clean!

Ah. Spacers are great. They make your uptake of the drug up to 80% more efficient, can reduce side effects from the drugs (such as thrush) and also allows for 2 ‘styles’ of breathing when you dose; one slow steady deep breathe and hold for 10 ( asthma.org.uk/advice/inhale... ), or ‘tidal breathing’ which means you spray and then gently do you normal breathing cycle for 5-10 breaths ( asthma.org.uk/advice/inhale... ). The aim of the game whichever way you use it is to not make the noise - if it use the spacer and it hums then you aren’t doing the technique properly!

If you don’t think you can get it right either see a local pharmacist, contact your GP/AN or call AUK! The AUK helpline nurses are great and can be reached on 0300 2225800 M-F 9-5. Alternatively their WhatsApp service is 07378 606728.

Here’s the AUK general info on spacer; asthma.org.uk/advice/inhale...

Good luck and make sure you remember to clean it occasionally 😉

Yep though mine has adult mask attached, which I find easier.

Simple to use and keep clean-always asked by hospital team if it whistles when used (incorrect technique) which makes me giggle.

Good luck.

I use it! I like it a lot. I am due to get a new one though. I try to replace it every six months.
