Flu Jab

Anyone else had a really bad reaction to the flu jab this year? I had mine yesterday afternoon, felt sick and giddy straight away and it's not getting any better. I was expecting the sore arm, headache, aches & pains etc which I have also developed, but the nausea is really getting me down. Went out to work and had to come home after a couple of hours as I felt so ill and went straight to bed. Last year I just felt a bit achey and shivery and a sore arm - nothing like this.

I had my flu jab on Saturday and was very tired for 3 days even got up late for work on Monday but other then that just the usual achy arm. All fine by Tuesday. Hopefully you’ll be fine in a few days. Get plenty of rest and drink plenty

Had both COVID and flu jabs together as I normally don't react much to either (maybe a bit tired after 5 days). This time I was exceptionally tired the following day, both sore arms, headache, and it sparked off my IBS. Better after a couple of days, but I won't be having both together in future! I think we've had so many boosters over the last few years that we have retained antibodies to these things, and so our immune response is much greater than it has been in the past - which is a good thing.

Yes, I had nausea and stomach ache 12 hours after, lasting 12 hours. Not had that reaction before.

Thanks for the replies everyone. The nausea finally went this morning, still feeling tired, but otherwise ok. My OH was saying flu would have been less trouble, but bearing in mind that usually knocks me out for a couple of weeks and sends the asthma into overdrive for a couple of months after, I think the flu jab was still worth getting. I think I'll try to book it in on a Friday afternoon in future though, just in case I have a similar reaction again!

Strangely, and for the first time, yes! A troubled tummy, and tired. Lasted 3 days, perhaps 4. I was very surprised as I don’t remember ever having a reaction to vaccinations. I think it must be to do with this particular strain. Anyway, it’s all over and now we’re protected for the season 🤞🏻

I’m sorry to hear that. I had a very bad reaction last year so elected not to have it this year and I’m building up my natural immunity instead with vitamin C & D3. I get worse reactions to the recent flu vaccines than I get from the flu 🤷🏻‍♀️.

Flu would still be much worse for me than the vaccine side effects have been, but I can understand skipping it if you find it worse than the actual flu!
