Primrose123
I tried it for a month and it didn't work for me. Went back to Duo Resp Spiromax.
How do you find Duo Resp Spiromax, Gsp? x
It works. I was on 2 puffs twice a day but I increased it to 3 puffs twice a day. Seems to be more under control now. May I ask what inhalers you are currently on?
I have gone back on Symbicort 400. & I have just finished 5 day course of prednisolne,& I have. another 9 days of Amoxillan. still to take, I am try ing constantly to cough. up phylem which I feel is making me quite breathless, i am trying to get an telephone consultation with my own GP , as to be honest Gsp, I have really been feeling quite ill this past week..Thank you Gsp for yoour reply...x
..
Sorry to hear to that your bad. I used to be on Symbicort 400 but the surgery changed it I think for cost reasons. Coughing is very tiring, I could do 20 mins of non stop exercise breathing through my nose but if I had a coughing fit I wouldn't be able to do anything
Are you doing the active cycle breathing techniques? And have you got device to help you bring up the phlegm? Are you taking Carbocisteine to thin the phelgm?
I find steaming helps me to clear my chest as well as my nose. Also nose breathing helps because you breath deeper into the lungs.
Yes, Gsp, I do the active cycle breathing techniques whenever I possibly can, the continual coughing is a massive drawback when you are trying hard to expel phlegm, I have never been offered anything to thin phlegm, but I will certainly ask my GP for Carbocisteineas as you have suggested Gsp whenever I have my consultation which hopefully will be soon...I wish to thank you most sincerely Gsp for all your sound advice, it has all been greatly appreciated..Wishing you good health & much happiness for the future..x
Hi Gsp,thank you so much for asking how I am now doing, I had been planning to contact you to update you on my progress.. First of all, I wish to thank you most sincerely Gsp for guiding me in the correct direction regarding the various breathing techniques & the medication to assist me on bringing up phylem, I had a long telephone consultation with my GP and as you advised Gsp. I asked him for carbocisteine , which I have to say has so far made a tremendous difference in loosening the phylem,& he did suggest that I remain on the symbicort to see how the carbocisteine worked as I had been many years on the symbicort, I also feel that being on the FostairNext for 2 weeks really set me back ..I once again want to Thank you so much Gsp as had it not been for your sound advice in assisting me so much by your video, breathing techniques & correct medication , I guess that I would not been feeling as well as I am now..You were truly a real Godsend to me Gsp..I hope all is good & well with you too, & I wish you much happiness for the future..Take care, & stay safe..x Primrose123
That's great to hear, glad to help.
Take care.
Thank you, Gsp..x
I’m on relvar. Works well for me and I also like that it’s a one puff once a day thing!
I’m ion it too and it controls my asthma very well, haven’t had an attack in 18 months since I’ve been on it.
Hi Primrose, my consultant has decided that I should return to high dose Relvar as my asthma was much better controlled with this. I'm fine with that as others have said it is once a day only. But have to remember to rinse and gargle well afterwards, greatly affected my voice.
Thank you Frazzle for your kind reply..x
Hi I too am on Relvar and it works great. As others have said, the only one puff is good too. I have been on for over a year and haven't worsened at all. I was worried at the start as I didn't think only one dose a day would work but it did for me.
Good luck with whatever you choose.
Hi. I have been on it a ni. Ber of years, alons with Spiriva Respimat. Seems to work for me,, like it being once a day. Only issues is I get bad oral thrush repeatedly, even though a clean teeth etc straightaway.
Love it it’s helped get my asthma under control. Before it I was on 4 puffs of symbicort twice a day which I used to miss regularly. Now it’s one puff of relvar in the morning and I never miss a dose. I haven’t had any issues with it at all 😁😁
Hi, I am on Relvar Ellipta 184/22 and find it so much better than the Symbicort which I was on previously.
The fact it’s only the one puff daily is a bonus too 👍👌
Good luck!
Many thanks rainbowbrite 33 for your most helpful reply..x
I have been on Relvar for about a year now and it works for me. I was on the brown preventor (can remember the name) and ventolin as rescue, then moved to Symbicort 200 but Relvar is better for me. I suppose we are all different and you just need to find something that works for you and I am sure there will be something out there. A good GP is really important in all of this.
Hope you find the answer.
