Normal pef tight airways running

I have lowered my steroid inhaler the last 2 weeks and my pef is still the same. But when I run it is harder breathing than before the decrease. I also have hypothyroidism so my question is can I rely on pef to decide dose that is since the pef hasn't decreased I can stay at this dose of steroid inhaler or could it be that I need the higher dose steroid even though the pef is the same? I hope that you understand what I'm asking.

When you run do you find your PF drops afterwards? Preventers are literally to prevent issues when you hit triggers (such as exercise).

Also be aware not everyone has a reliable PF. PF measures large airways not small airways and asthma can affect both or just one or the other.

So if you feel more symptomatic or your PF drops when you’re running now than you did pre the reduction I’d suggest returning to your original dose. If then the breathlessness calms down when you run you will know that’s the dose you need. It could be the lower dose is enough to maintain your control normally (hence why scores are the same) but not enough to help you cope with triggers

I hope that helps
