Hi everyone! Has anyone found that Fostair 200 is causing them to bruise easily?! I know it’s an odd one and I have always bruised easily but it seems to have got worse since being on this for the past 9 months. Thank you in advance 😊

Yes, I am on fostair 200 and bruise very easily. I just accept it as the inhaler works well for me.

I have bruised easily before I started fostair. My platelet count was a little lower than it should be. I also get blood blisters in my mouth occasionally, and that’s why they did my bloods.

I am on Fosair 100/6 and also Aspirin. Aspirin causes bruising to the skin but I have noticed an increase in bruising since I started taking Fostair. When I see my Pharmacist I will ask if Fostair is increasing my risk of bruising and report back what she has to say.

I think any steroid use increases bruising. I’ve always had it whatever inhaler I take

Good Afternoon

I have Googled askapharmacist. about this problem and I copied and pasted his reply

In response to your question, a rare side effect of Fostair is Thrombocytopenia (low platelets) which can lead to people bruising more easily. In any case its important to see your GP so they can carry out some tests to verify the actual reason for the bruising issue and potentially stop the fostair if the platelets are very low.

Hope this is of assistance to all readers
