Hi I note that this is the second time you have put this question up despite getting a dozen replies last time. The nurse doesn't routinely read these posts so you need to direct it to the nurse. If you go into the admins name you can send a direct message to Dita (the nurse).

Instead of worrying about it and getting different opinions why not ask your pharmacist? They will know the answer. Or if not then see your doctor/nurse. You will only get opinions on here, not expert medical advice. x

"5. How to store Fostair

Keep this medicine out of the sight and reach of children.

Do not use Fostair beyond 5 months from the date you get the inhaler from your pharmacist and never use after the expiry date which is stated on the carton and label. The expiry date refers to the last day of that month.

Do not store the inhaler above 25 °C.

If the inhaler has been exposed to severe cold, warm it with your hands for a few minutes before using. Never warm it by artificial means.

Warning: The canister contains a pressurised liquid. Do not expose the canister to temperatures higher than 50 °C. Do not pierce the canister.

Medicines should not be disposed of via waste water or household waste. Return all used, partially used and unused inhalers to your pharmacist to be disposed of. These measures will help to protect the environment."

Hi i have the same inhaler and was advised to keep it refrigerated until i used it, i use my fostair alsong side my reliever throughout the day so i carry it with me so i dont think it has to be refridgerated once youve opened it.

Asked pharmacists several times about why they store this in fridge and I don't at home he said they don't know how long they may have to keep this as sometimes it may be required only once in 6 months, patients use within 6 months. This is due to the small particles in the inhaler which gets into the lungs quicker and faster apparently!!!! I heard from asthma nurse patients using seretide will have to change eventually to fostair as seretide wiil not be licensed?😊
