No the pharmacist told me they keep it in fridge for shelf life. I was informed we don't need to as long as we use it within 5 months.

I was told to keep it in the fridge until I started using it, then there was no need.

The pharmacist always gets it out of the fridge so I asked the question and was told there was no need.

The confusion arises because pharmacists have to keep a stock beyond the 5 month Shelf life which affects users. Consequently, pharmacists have to keep it refrigerated, whereas users need not, provided they use it within the 5 months. As others have said, if you're not going to use it immediately, then refrigeration would seem sensible as you then keep the 5 month shelf life when you do start to use it.

I originally stored mine in the fridge until I used it as I get 2 inhalers at a time but the last time I got it I was told I didn’t need to

I take fostair, I don’t Store it in the fridge. I asked my chemist because they have to store it in there fridge but they said I didn’t have to. It had something to do with activating the ingredients whether this is true I don’t know.

I will contact the company and let you know

It changed recently, it did used to be "keep refrigerated until needed and leave at room temperature for an hour before use", the patient information leaflet now just says "do not store above 25 degrees Centigrade".

I've been told to keep any inhaler (ventolin etc) in the fridge until you are ready to use it. Easy enough to do.

In the states the pharmacy does not store them in a fridge because they are in a pressurized sealed foil bag within the box. There are no special requirements other than "do not exceed xxx temperature. " have a great week

Thankyou for all your feedback. It still leaves me in a state of confusion as there are conflicting responses so i still dont know what to do. I think i will contact boots my pharmacy and see what they say. Unless told otherwise on this site. X
