I always feel very sore and inflamed when asthma flares up plus coughing. I have a symbicort inhaler and salbutamol . Just wondering how you all deal with the inflammation ?

Hello
I have just started taking on this forum so new to but wanted to say Welcome x
Hello and Welcome. The best way to keep your asthma controlled is through good management and monitoring. Taking you preventer inhaler as prescribed even when you feel well. Monitoring your PF, for some sufferers a drop can mean that your lungs are becoming inflamed this an early warning sign and you should see a medical professional ASAP. Also monitor your salbutamol use. More than 3 times a week is an indication that your asthma could be flaring and again you should see your medical team ASAP. My PF started to drop at the start of October and I was unwilling to bother my GP about it. It started to get worse and I ended up having an attack. So just keep on top of things
Thanks for that. I think a lot of the time I don't see my dr as I don't want to be a nuisance 🙄
Have to admit I was very poorly over the summer and I was all due to the fact that I had ignored my deteriorating condition. This time around I nipped it in the bud by seeing GP straight after my attack. The steroids got my PF back up. Last time around I needed a lot of meds to put me right so I wanted to avoid that at all cost
Hello and welcome! You’ll find a wealth of information in here and before you know it, will become an expert in your own asthma condition!
One thing that’s helped me massively in symptom management is looking at the bigger picture to find patterns and determine what exactly is causing flares/inflammation.
I initially started using the Notes app on my phone to make a note of symptoms and what action I took. This then developed into me logging dates, times, the weather, pollution etc. I found that this helped me to pin point exactly what my triggers were so that I could avoid them and trigger flares but there are a number of really useful apps available too that help track symptoms and salbutamol usage.
I hope this is somewhat helpful
