Hi everyone, I have a coughing asthma, starting to be a bit breathless in the last few days. I have had the cough for years and had all the tests.
I do not respond to inhaled steroids only oral and I don't want to live on them. Does anybody have any ideas about anything that might have worked for them if not inhaled steroids?
I would be most grateful for your ideas as the doctors are about to put me on Prednisilone.

Hi here you I have a cough to for four years on and off it is terrible and in April started getting pains in the middle of my chest the doctor said the pains are over the cough
Hi Antrim
I had the same symptoms as you and was on prednisolone until I went for an allergy test (outside the NHS) and was told to cut out cow's milk and yeast.
That was in June and, although not totally cured, it's been amazing how my asthma has improved. I stopped taking prednisolone and just use ventolin and/or forstair a little, usually in the morning or night to stop wheezing.
I would recommend having an allergy test to find the reason behind the coughing.
(I also had very itchy eczema which has cleared up quite a bit, though not totally)
