Hi all, I've just been changed to Sirdupla 25/250 although it has helped with the breathing the leg and stomach cramps are awful. Anyone else experience this? It is listed as a side effect for 1in 100 I wondered if by taking the evening dose whilst still active would help or should I go back to GP? Any advice will be gratefully accepted

Leg cramps

Hi
Unfortunately cramps and spasms can be caused by new inhalers to greater or lesser degree. If they’re really severe I’d go back to see your GP/AN ASAP, if they’re manageable try to put up with them for a couple weeks and see if they stop over time (go back if they don’t stop or are a pain to put up with 😉). Occasionally when you start a new message you get issues but then they calm as your body adapts. If you’re taking the wait and see approach I’d suggest trying to increase your potassium and magnesium intake as spasms are often caused by these deficiencies (as their levels can be affected by your inhaler). Ps for potassium I was advised to drink fresh orange juice as more potassium in a glass of that compared to bananas which I don’t like 😉
Good luck and hope that helps. If it’s really severe tho I’d defo say see your go sooner rather than later x
Are you suffering withdrawal symptoms to previous medication?
I got leg and feet cramps when I was put on Symbicort. Go to your GP surgery and tell them about the cramps. They should give you another inhaler.
