Does anyone suffer from muscle cramps due to their seretide 500? And how do you alleviate them?

Muscle cramps
I'm on Seretide 250 2 puffs twice a day. Get awful cramps in calves, ankles and toes mostly at night which disturb my sleep so I'll be interested to hear how others solved this issue
Drinking soda water can help with the cramps as it contains quinine. If they're particularly troublesome your GP can prescribe quinine tablets. Hope this helps. Good luck 🍀🍀
I have bought some magnesium oil and the tablets now. It seems to be helping. There has been a massive difference over the last couple of days. Also, I'm recording my potassium intake to make sure that my electrolytes from my diet are adequate. Thanks for the advice. I hope this also helps others who are pacing the floors
i get them as well, had them this morning actually, just had to wait till they passed i always try and move the legs even if its feels sore, I’m on Seritide 250
Interesting. I also get loads of cramps. I have have been prone, but recently it has been much worse, day and night, in my hands, in my back, not to mention feet and legs. I am not on Seretide,, but on symbicort, but also on blood pressure meds. Until a few days ago I was also taking Omeprazole, which I was put on when in hospital with an asthma attack. As I am older it was thought that acid reflux might in part be to blame for the attack (I also had a cold, and other stuff), thus the Omeprazole. A few days ago I ran out of the Omeprazole, and instead of asking for more I decided to wait and see, checking my pf twice daily. So far so good. And my cramps have improved! Not gone but not quite as prevalent. I also eat a banana for breakfast every day.
I wonder if there is any similarities between Symbicort and Seretide? I would be glad to have less cramps still.
I had cramping with Seretide and had to stop taking it. it's not the sort of cramp that is eased by pointing toes upwards either! I described it as the devil gripping the back of my calves. I am, and was at the time, taking daily Magnesium (for swollen ankles). I'm also a banana eater. I'm back on Qvar. Others I tried - don't recall names - made me hoarse.
Ive been suffering with them for years but my consultant shrugs and says its your medication. I know it's my medication and I accept that it's a side effect, but what they dont tell you is how to control it. These forums are a fantastic way to find out how others cope and give you options to try different methods that are tried and tested by the ones who are up all night. We really are not alone
