Hi I have had a dry cough for a long time and have recently been diagnosed with cough variant asthma. I was wondering what inhalers/medicine people find most effective with this type of asthma?

Cough variant asthma
I tend to cough with my asthma and need to take dextromethorphan and or Tessalon to stop the cough. It irritates my airway and makes the exacerbation longer. I do not need cough medication every day and do not take it full time.
I have taken a maintenance inhaler that caused a cough. I discussed it with Mt doctor and I changed to something else.
I have cough variant asthma, diagnosed last August. What a shock.
I have been on several inhalers , not doing a lot for reducing coughing. Prednisalone makes me feel very unwell. Current inhaler is Forstair nexthaler 200/6
Last time I saw the GP I said I wanted to take several approaches and am on Fexofenadine as well as Lansoprazole. After four weeks the cough is reducing. Once I get rid of all the mucus in the morning the cough is a lot better although still there.
Are you a smoker?
No.
I suggest you ask your doctor for a cardiac echo. It’s an investigation which could identify whether or not your pulmonary pressures are a bit high. A persistent dry cough can have many origins. Therefore, ruling out other causes might be wise in your case before attributing it to asthma.
I have not found anything to help I was up all night I have a headache ! And I really want to cough something up at this point. I’m on symbacort and a rescue inhaler albuterol . I feel horrid I’m a non smoker hardly drink I use great house filters and I vaccume over and over just to keep my cat hair down and I have had these cats for years and never felt this bad ! I wash everything on my bed once a week I do sleep with a fan on me but I just ordered an tower air purifier to use instead.
