Cough variant asthma admission

Have to laugh I am at the hospital for exacerbation of cough varied asthma and they gave me simple linctus. As if that is going to help!!

You could also try the butkeyo stop cough method. That helps for me, particularly spasms. But not for use with a productive cough. You can find it on YouTube and other sites.

You'd be suprised that something that simple can help. I think they are trying to treat your cough so that you can try and get your breathing under control. I do hope it helps.

What about sipping water? I find that can help stop the cough and help me to regain control of my breathing.

Well, you never know - think positive! You could try inhaling steam, like you might for a sore throat. The calming, breathing exercises recommended here might well help as well. Try anything once! Well, maybe not absolutely anything...

Gosh, you need tp control the cough. Most DR.s are useless with asthma.

I find laying on my back makes it worse. Cough mixture never helps, but sipping water and using my salbutamol helps eventually as long as I'm sat up, relaxing and don't talk.
