It’s rarely bad dreams. I dream a lot anyway, I just noticed that when I started montelukast my dreams got a little bit more realistic

Personally I've not had any obvious side-effects, but I know some people do. They are mildly sedative I think which might explain the dreams.

I did have a dream the other night that our water had been cut off...& woke up, went in the bathroom & found out that indeed our water had been cut off (a leak up the road I'd emphasise, not me skimping on the bill). This dream disturbed me a lot, as I couldn't help wondering why, if I am having prophetic dreams, they can't be about the winner of the 3.30 at Haydock Park or next week's lottery numbers, rather than not being able to clean my teeth.

I have taken them for years. One of the side effects is agitation and I am rather agitated. Is it the montelukast? After so long I can't really say but I do wonder.

Montelukast can have what are called neuropsychiatric effects - it's very well documented if you look. These side effects can range from disturbed sleep and nightmares through to clinical depression and even what's quaintly termed suicidal 'ideation'. I started taking Montelukast about a year ago, and within a month or so the full impact of the worst of the side effects hit me very hard indeed. I wouldn't say that you shouldn't take Montelukast, but I would suggest that if you notice any mood changes or agitation then you should get back to the prescribing doctor as soon as possible.

I took these for 10 days. By then I had vivid dreams to point of super real and truly truly terrible.

Real like being at a trendy afternoon party at a house several stories swimming pool green grass and an alive young man with partially severed limbs.used for organs..

so after some months tried the pills again and dreams within 3 days.

Almost flicking in when I was awake. I think these should never be given to young people who cannot refuse them.

I have told my doctor her response was you don’t like them.
