Hi i take seretide 500 Accuhaler for Asthma and wondered if anyone had experienced severe painful teeth as well as sinsitis whilst on it? I mentioned to my GP if my seretide could have caused or contributed to my sinus infection which I am still recovering from as despite 2 lots of antibiotics which helped it has not completely gone but he told me it couldn't be the inhaler because my sinuses though not completely gone are better than they were before. Any thoughts?

Hi kaussha

I’ve been taking seretide 500 for many years and although I’ve never experienced the tooth pain that you describe, it is worth mentioning that oral problems can arise from inhalers. At chat with your Dentist/hygienist may help along with mouthwash directly after inhaler use.

The sinusitis you describe is something that I have suffered with daily since commencing seretide. I’d never had it before and now I’m never without it!!!! During the night is the worse time to which I keep a sinus spray next to my bed. I used to mention it during my original consultations, now I just take the rough with the smooth as changing my medications that are controlling the asthma portion of my disease is a small price for me to pay.

I take the seretide 500 accuhaler and also the flixotide 500 accuhaler and spiriva along with a lot of different types of tablets I also have bad sinuses not sure if it is to do with the inhalers but my consultant doesn't seem to think so but I think otherwise but it's a small price to pay if it makes my breathing easier I have severe brittle asthma and suffer daily with my breathing even with the amount of medication I am on so now going to have xolair injections they gave me monetasone nasal spray for my sinuses and it has helped so much hope u get sorted soon

🤞🤞🤞
