So after seeing a 3rd gp at my practice in a week they have finally decided that ive got viral pheumonia, but they havent given me anything for it, just keep telling me to rest and to take paracetamol, but im using my ventolin 4-5 times a day, which i havent needed to use since february, and my peak flow is down to 300 from my usual 450. I know antibiotics wont work if it viral but surely a course of oral steriods would be wise?? Anybody had this issue before?

I would ring an asthma nurse at Asthma UK. They would be best to advise you what to do next. Don't let the doctors fob you off. Good luck.
Hi Cshuttle
Please do give our nurses helpline a call to talk through how you're feeling, you can reach them on 0300 222 5800 (Mon-Fri 9am-5pm).
Take care,
Dita
I personally would try a puff of ventolin four times a day even if you do not feel you need it.
I often find I do not feel like I need it but when I do use it my peak flow picks up.
Trying what doctor says will not harm you. Worst that can happen with ventolin is th shakes.
