Injections?

Hi - last time I was at the GP he spoke about possibly trying a steroid injection (I can't remember what he did it was called).

I've been on oral steroids fairly constantly for about a couple of months now and have had to restart every time I've stopped.

If anyone has any thoughts on steroid injections, how they get on with them or any advice it would be great to hear what you think. I am currently on pred, symbicort 400 6 puffs daily, montelukast, fexofenadine, omeprazole i also have been using home nebuliser in middle of the night/early morning more often lately. I'm back to GP on Monday

Thank you 😊

When I was in hospital they gave me intravenous steroids which was an injection through the cannula - perhaps that is what your doc is talking about. It high dose and it gets into the blood stream and body much quicker

Years ago I had allergic asthma difficulties and had a few Kenalog injections. Not sure if they do these any more. They lasted about 4to6weeks but I only had them in June/July for about 6years which is my allergic season.

I now take Mobtelukast and my preventer steroid inhaler is Qvar.

I think it might have been kenalog that he mentioned.

It's been raining here for a couple of days and I'm still wheezing. I love the summer but am struggling with allergies.

Hoping to get better over the weekend. Yay for Friday 😊

Xxx
