Hi,

How long does it take until it starts working? Are there any significant side effects? Does it help for eosinophillic asthma?

Hi

I've been on it years although I don't really have any strong features of allergic asthma. Some people say it causes vivid dreams which I have sometimes, but that could happen even if off Montelukast.

Tried to come off it earlier this year as well as briefly reduce my Seretide and ended up with an exacerbation so am back on it.

Hope it helps you

I've been on Montelukast for a while (isn't the name wonderful by the way? It sounds like a Mediterranean principality). I find it works well. 2 things I've noticed:

1. Take it with water as otherwise it causes heartburn.

2. If I take it at a time when I'm using my neb a lot and/or taking a lot of Ventolin, I get restless legs at night.

I will try to drink more water - thanks for your suggestion. I stopped taking it last time because I had stomach aches and felt sick and it's similar side effects this time - may be water will help

I am on it and seems to be no problems
