Montelukast does create anxiety . My 17 year old daughter has experienced anxiety 2 months since Monekulast 5mg was first started. She is not on any other medicine.

She may find this disappears as her body adjusts to Montelukast. It took me three months or more, but worth persisting for the improvement with asthma triggers.

I found this medicine gave me a headache lasting a long time plus anxiety.I also take symbicort. The tablets had to go ! Some people like it but not me.

I felt much less anxious on Montelukast, because I didn't need my reliever inhaler as often. Blue reliever inhalers, and some types of preventers (LABA), are chemically very similar to drinking several strong coffees. They kick your sympathetic nervous system into overdrive, which produces the physical symptoms of anxiety, and can make you feel anxious.
