Side effect of Brown preventer

Hi

My son, 5 years, has been prescribed a preventer after a second admission. However, he has started to pooh himself on a regular basis, is this a side effect of the inhaler? It may have been triggered by his hospital stay, he was taken in by ambulance & got quite upset about it or it could have been the shock of the hospital food!!
