Hi everyone

New to the forum and looking for advice. Has anyone tried Singulaire and if so, did you have any negative side effects? I have just started it and feel a little low and as if I am not quite with it.

Would be grateful to hear from anyone who has had any type of experience with this medication.

Thanks

Hi :)

I've never had that so can't give you any advice, sorry.

Just wanted to say welcome :) You've come to the right place!

Rachel

Hi Shirley and welcome!

I've been taking this.for about 8 months now and apart from.very vivid dreams I've had no side effects but everyone is different and has different reactions to meds.

Hope the symptoms disappear!!

I have found it fab for my allergic asthma triggers.

X

Singulair has been great for my asthma and I now don't get any side effects from it. At first I did have some vivid dreams, but I changed the time I took it to earlier in the evening (asked Asthma nurse first who said it was ok for me) and not had this since.

I have been taken Singulair for a couple of months now, the first few weeks I took it I felt a bit irritable and had quite vivid dreams but after those first few weeks I now have no side effects at all. It has also definitely helped my asthma control!

Hopefully your symptoms will soon go as well, but if at anytime you are worried you can always ring the AUK nurses or see your nurse/doctor/consultant.

Just wanted to thank everyone who replied. I am going to persevere for the recommended two months and see how I go.

Shirley

I hope it goes well, that it improves your asthma and the side effects disappear soon. x

Hi and good luck! I love Singulair and have been on it for over a year; in fact I'm on a double dose now. I haven't noticed any side effects; I do get vivid and occasionally bizarre dreams but I always have done so not much new there... ;)

It does work very well for some people and not for others so as you say worth trying. You haven't said what else you're on or why you were put on it, but if you've been having steroids or your asthma has been playing up the feeling weird/low might be related to that and will improve as you get better?

btw think I saw elsewhere someone saying that it's more for allergic asthma; I don't have 'allergic asthma' or really any allergies, but my understanding was it's also good for exercise-induced asthma which is a big component of what's going on with me - in fact I was put on it because my GP sees a lot of athletes with asthma and finds it usually works well for them. Not that I am an athlete but my lungs seem to think so!

Not what you're looking for?
