bronchial challenge test

just wondering if anyone has ever had one of these, I am having one in february and was just wondering why someone with asthma might have this test and what happens during the test?

funny you should ask........ I have recently written an assignment on this exact thing..... basically they measure your lung function then give you increasing doses of a bronchoconstrictor agent (that have the oposite effect to your reliever inhler) and measure your lung function after each dose to look and see how responsive your airways are to the agent.

hi otter, thanks for your reply and it did make sense! But i was also wondering how reliable the test is cause i read on the internet that you can get false positives and false negatives!
