Heyy, Some consultants are consultants in general medicine, and just have specialities (such as asthma) i suspect this is who you have been seeing, however there are consultants who are just consultants of respiritory consultants, it sounds like this is who you hae been refered to. Is the new consultant at the same hospital? Your new consultant should be able to give you ruther adice and have even more specialist information and be able to try other treatment options in a attempt to improve your asthma.
In your first appointemnt the consultant will probably go through your history and the types of medication you have tried in the past and that you are on now, he may then send you for some tests to provide him with more information on the most effective way of looking after you and your lungs!
Bumped up for Gloves. I know there have been other posts on this very subject but I can't find them! Will keep looking and bump up if I find them! Good luck with your appointment Gloves.
