Doctor put referral in last week and they’ve got me an appointment for Monday at 9am. Can’t believe it’s that quick! Anyone know what to expect?

Wow that's good. Is it first ever respiratory consultant? My first appointment was going through

Past medical history

Family history

Triggers

Meds

Symptoms

How many times had prednisolone in past year

How many times had abx in past year basically building a picture then added in and changed meds. I was then seen every 6 weeks then covid hit... hope that helps.

Yeah it’s the first one, I have had 3 hospital admissions in the last month and on 40mg of prednisolone (4th or 5th lot in the last year) and my asthma is still really poorly controlled even with sabultomol, fostair and spriva and monteskluat and allergy tablets. I think that’s probably the only reason they’re seeing me so quickly. I was shocked though as even the GP said she couldn’t guarantee it would be quick even though it was put through as urgent. Feel quite lucky especially with everything that’s going on!

They may also run some breathing and blood tests....so pleased that they are seeing you quickly. Hope that you are able to receive the medications that you need to get things under control ASAP...😷😊😷

That's really good though, maybe trying to see as many urgent cases as possible before next lockdown... how did your appointment go?

My respiratory consultant referred me to severe asthma clinic following my admission had breathing and hyperventilation tests on the thur, then recieved appointment with new consultant on the sat- I am well impressed and only 2 week wait seeing him f2f wed. Wasn't expecting it to be that quick as you say or a f2f.

With these covid cases rising I'm so worried my appointment will be cancelled wed I know they would do a phone call but not the same not for an initial appointment. 🤞🏽

Appointment went really well, they’re doing more bloods because some of my levels indicate potentially other issues that could be making my asthma worse. 2 new medications being added alongside the allergy tablets and I already use 3 inhalers daily they’ve increased the fostair and I can use that up to 4 extra times a day if I need too alongside the sabultamol and they’re arranging a CT scan too. Consultant will be in touch once they have results of the CT scan and bloods, apparently there is crackling noise from my left lung a few doctors have said this over the last few weeks so hopefully the CT scan will give a clearer indication as to what is going on. Have to say they were really helpful and supportive.

Ah that's brilliant (not the crackling in lung) but arranging ct and bloods and adding in extra meds 🙂 hopefully within a few weeks you may feel a difference. So glad they're on it.
