Hi jilly willy i've had parts of my lung collapse before due to infection which sounds like what your nephew is suffering from, mucus blocks the airways so stops the lung from expanding.

antibiotics to treat the infection and physio to loosen the mucus is what treatment I have.

it sounds like a partial lung collapse as more than that in children can make them very poorly, I used to get this often when I had pneumonia as a child.

hope this helps a bit

thanks that makes sense now as they hav gave him antibiotics so he must have infection then, and he did hav pneumonia last year as well, hes never been well since then. he was in hospital for a week with that. thank you i feel much better now. xxx
