Painkillers

I've had a suspected reaction to ibuprofen but really need to take something to take down the inflammation caused by a recent operation. Does anyone know of any anti inflammatories that are safe for asthmatics that I can either buy or ask my GP for?

Has anyone tried any alternative remedies for things like this? I'm desperate as I've got to wait another 2 weeks to go back to see my consultant to see if the op worked. Can't tell at the moment because of the inflammation.

Many thanks
