GP appointment following Asthma attack.....

following my previous message re 3 yr old having his first asthma attack and being hospitalized for it..

What happens next?

Have made an appointment for GP for Tuesday. As we were advised to do.

Do we take the Asthma plan from the hospital with us?

we have Salbutamol and Clenil Modulate inhalers plus a supply of Pred for emergencies. But think the hosp has probably passed that info on.

I assume the meds and plan will be kept as they are, and the appointment is just to see how he is??

Is that the case? Will he then be referred to an asthma nurse?

Sorry rather new to all this x

Hey,

I suggest you take everything with you that the hospital gave you including the asthma plan, so that the doctor gets a good idea of whats been going on and he understands that the diagnosis is asthma! I'm unsure of weather he will be refered to the asthma nurse due to him just being 3, as I think I have seen some discussions on here about them having to be five, tho I'm sure different doctors differ. I also suspect that the meds will be kept the same however the GP may alter them slightly depending on how your little boy is doing.

I hope all goes well

Thanx for the reply.

He is a lot better now, and only has a few asthma symtoms,

have finished the course of pred, so just on his brown inhaler 1 puff morning and night, and still using his blue inhaler daily atm.(though not a lot) seems to have recoverd well.
