Arthritic hands

l have had Arthritis for many many years, but recently it has got worse. Hands being the most difficult to deal with. Over the years I have bought gloves purporting to be a great help, but I have not found any that are a help at all. Can any members give me a guide on gloves , that they have found to be good . Every day living needs your hands, my walker, my mobility Scooter , to name a few. Thank you.

No advice on gloves -sorry -luckily my OA doesn’t affect hands too much.

Did put this on another forum about useful gadgets -but you are probably aware of all but just in case you aren’t -

healthunlocked.com/pmrgcauk...

Guess you’ve tried flexiseq -and all the other lotions/potions -

Flexiseq do have a lot in their blogs about all thing OA - might be worth looking at -

flexiseq.com/pages/products

As it’s got worse lately are you sure it’s all OA and not Carpal Tunnel Syndrome in the mix ?

Thank for you reply, I will look into this. I asked about gloves, going by the many replies I have had, but nothing about gloves, makes me think that this is not a good idea

I was seen by occupational therapist and provided with compression gloves which do help at night. Can you request a referral for an assessment, should be able to provide advice.

Thank you, you seem to be the first one to say anything good about gloves. I will check on that.

Light leather gloves to keep your hands warmer may help, I use Dents.

Can't help with gloves, but I started olive oil 15ml every day on 26th June. I'm shocked by the improvement in all of my joints. Not any olive oil, pressed virgin is best, too expensive to cook with.

Thank you for that, first time that has been suggested. Must try.

I had swollen painful finger joints about thirty years ago, when I for another reason changed from using sunflower oil and low fat spread to olive oil and butter. Gradually the joints improved and have been OK ever since. I later read about the omega 6 to omega 3 ratio and that too much omega 6 is inflammatory. There is a lot of omega 6 in ultra processed food.

hi Lybra, I too have arthritis, recently replaced both thumb joints but prior to these surgeries I wore gloves which I found really comfortable and supportive for work and driving. I got mine from Amazon. I hope this helps.
